These are key elements on which REV has always relied on

A packaging solution that is both environmentally friendly and innovative

"We were the first in the industry to start using eco-friendly packaging. We did this by designing machines that make packages without metal clip, which are entirely recyclable. As a result, less plastic is used. In 2010 we patented Lion, our netting machine that makes 100% organic or plastic packaging, but with 50% less material than our main competitor's packaging," said Fabrizio Fiumana, managing director of the Italian company REV.

In 2012, it was the turn of Tiger and then Puma, two thermosealing netting machines that originated from the need to remove the metal clip from packaging. "Both machines produce single and therefore 100% recyclable packaging, combining both compostable materials and recyclable plastics, but using 50% less material. Let's not forget that less plastic means not only respect for the environment, but also lower costs for the packer."

"Even our machines with a metallic clip closure, Vega and Spider, wink at the environment by also using organic materials made from natural and compostable fibers instead of recyclable plastics."

Each new project is the result of listening to the needs of the market and customers, and REV aims to fulfill these expectations with the most sustainable and innovative solutions on the market. This is the case with Elephant, a machine for closing cardboard trays with flaps, which REV recently launched. It has been a great success thanks to its high performance and versatility.

"For us it is not only about sustainability, but also about innovation. The fruit and vegetable packaging sector is in a constant state of flux and there are always new expectations, as retailers are constantly looking for new, more sustainable and more attractive packaging. These needs are different from those of the packers. REV creates its machines with a view to bridging these gaps by offering state-of-the-art solutions," said Fiumana.

"This is where the Eagle and Condor automatic tapping machines come in. They are ideal for round and bundled products and the speed can be increased by 350% compared to the manual solutions used so far. Another example is the Hollywood film machine, which allows several boxes to be processed at once, thus doubling production. And finally, our weighing machines, which guarantee very high efficiency (+20% compared to previous versions) and greater gentleness in handling the product.”

"REV is one of the few companies in the industry that can offer a complete packaging solution. Whatever the packaging needs, we can meet them, including handling ad hoc projects. We offer the most eco-friendly and innovative solutions on the market," concluded Fiumana.

REV will be present at the Sival international trade fair from 15 to 17 March 2022, at Angers Expo Congrès Parc des Expositions, hall B-A-108.

Project sponsors: Soulis (Greece), Xact (United Kingdom), Zeus Petruzalek (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine).
