The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) released new import and export data on the 21st of March. Data shows that China exported more than 1,700 tons of fresh fruit and vegetables to Russia in the first three weeks of March, 2022. The fruit and vegetables entered Russia via Zabaikal'sk on the Sino-Russian border.
The export volume included garlic (712.6 tons), chili peppers (377.1 tons), carrots (98.1 tons), cabbages (256.3 tons), tomatoes (27.2 tons), zucchini (27.2 tons), fresh ginger (78.1 tons), radishes (20.3 tons), cucumbers (20.3 tons), and more.
In addition, the export volume also included 34.8 tons of fresh fruit, such as kiwi fruit, mangoes, and pineapples.
The Rosselkhoznadzor inspects the products when they cross the border. In March they detected Mulberry scale insects in 4 samples. The products were placed under quarantine.
China has exported more than 10,000 tons of fruit and vegetables to Russia via Zabaikal'sk since the beginning of 2022.
