Vietnam's Bac Giang province is expected to export 95,000 tons of lychees to China in 2022

Phan Sai Chun, vice chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang Province in Vietnam, said that Bac Giang Province will continue to vigorously promote lychees to domestic and foreign markets while promoting and introducing the province's other main products in the 2022 lychee season.

It is estimated that Bac Giang Province plans to maintain the planting area of lychee around 28,300 hectares with an output of about 160,000 tons in the 2022 lychee season, including 15,400 hectares planted according to the VietGAP standard (with an output of about 112,900 tons) and about 82 hectares planted according to the GlobalGAP standard (with an output of 1,000 tons).

The planting area of lychee exported to high-end markets such as the EU and the US market is 218 hectares with an output of 1,600 tons. The planting area of lychee exported to Japan is 219.45 hectares with an output of 1,800 tons. The output exported to China is about 95,000 tons.

Phan Sai Chun also asked the province's agricultural department to coordinate with various local departments to guide the production areas and farmers to comply with the processes and requirements of the export market, review and supervise all planting area codes and packaging facilities to ensure the quality of lychees exported in 2022.
