Tanzanian avocado farmers are happy their govt is removing levies

Rungwe district avocado growers thanked the federal government for removing several levies on the crop, that were impeding sales. In recent months, fruits produced by farmers in the district lacked market and began to rot due some buyers running away from obstacle that ended in losses to farmers.

One avocado farmer said they had been facing hardships because the government was arranging buyers instead of letting them free to deal with their crop. He said they were being forced to go and receive payments from financial institutions, especially banks or other companies.
