Vehicles exporting fruits and vegetables to China are increasing day by day at Vietnamese border ports, and there may be a backlog again

Vietnam Customs Online reported on May 28 that the number of trucks waiting for export at the three land ports of Friendship, Chima, and Xinqing has reached 1,057 according to the Vietnam Dong Dang-Lang Son Port Economic Zone Management Committee, an increase of 103 vehicles from the previous day. Among them, there were 553 trucks carrying fresh fruits and agricultural products, an increase of 177 from the previous day, accounting for about 52% of the total number of vehicles to be exported. Therefore, the backlog of agricultural products and fresh fruits at border ports in this harvest season, especially the land border ports in Lang Son Province, will occur again if the problem is not resolved in time.

According to statistics, there were 311 transport vehicles from mainland Vietnam to the above three ports in the past 24 hours, most of which were trucks carrying fresh fruits and agricultural products.

On May 27, nearly 80 transport vehicles, including more than 70 trucks carrying fresh fruits and agricultural products, were exported at the Friendship International Port. Nearly 120 trucks brought in goods from inland that day. As of 8 p.m. on May 27, more than 330 trucks were waiting for customs clearance at the Friendship International Port, including 278 trucks transporting fresh fruit.

On May 27, there were 130 export trucks, including 100 trucks transporting fruit, at the new customs clearance. There were also 194 trucks bringing in goods from the inland that day, mainly jackfruit, tapioca flour, bananas, dragon fruit, mangoes, and lotus seeds. On the import side, there were nearly 150 trucks transporting imports from Xinqing Customs.

At the Shima Port, there are no trucks transporting exports yet, and only 35 trucks have completed the import procedures.

According to relevant departments, it is currently the peak production season for fresh fruits such as longan, lychee, watermelon, mango, and dragon fruit. Therefore, trucks from the southern provinces of Vietnam will gather to transport the fruits to the northern border ports, and trucks at the northern border ports will increase. Among them, most of the fresh fruits and agricultural products will be transported to the border ports of Lang Son, Lao Cai, Cao Binh, and Ha Giang provinces to go through export procedures for export to China.
