Celebrating organic gold kiwi expansion at OPS

Multiple generations of the Wild River Team are excited to exhibit at this year's Organic Produce Summit in Monterey, California July 13-14.

As a producer of organic kiwifruit for more than 30 years, Wild River is celebrating the expansion of its organic gold kiwi program alongside its diverse bouquet of fall fruits and unique summer stone fruit. Wild River’s first block of Chinensis kiwifruit was certified organic in 2018 but it has quickly sold out of its limited volume in recent seasons as demand has grown for gold kiwi.

As a grower of California-grown certified organic gold kiwifruit, Wild River continues its successful transition of additional maturing acreage. It's preparing to offer a season-long program in both 1 lb. consumer packs and bulk, to complement its organic green kiwifruit program, from harvest in October through the winter.

"We are excited to see that this season's crop is sizing and maturing nicely under the canopy in spite of a challenging growing season across the valley,” says Mike Noland, president of Wild River Fruit.

Having exhibited at the show since its inception in 2016, the Wild River family is grateful for the focus and timing of the passionate and values-driven gathering. Along with providing a convenient excuse to visit with old friends and break from the peak summer heat of the valley, the show is perfectly timed at the heart of its summer-long organic pluot and hybrid stone fruit program and ahead of its busy fall harvest. This allows sufficient time for program planning for kiwifruit, along with its growing citrus and persimmon programs.

Keep a lookout for Wild River's mascot and partner in its biodiverse approach to organic farming, Kiwi the Owl, who will be perched at Booth #715!
