Logistics service provider AB Texel UK took over Aitken & Merry Contractors' transport and storage activities on August 7, 2023. With this acquisition, the company, part of AB Texel Group, expands its potato and other agricultural product transport services in the United Kingdom.
The acquired activities include 20 employees, the vehicle fleet, and buildings in Greetham Wood, Rutland, in the East Midlands of England. The takeover is in line with AB Texel UK's strategy to serve the sector best, the company reports.
AB Texel UK, thus, expands its service delivery, particularly regarding tipper transport. Aitken & Merry Contractors staff specialize in transporting agricultural products like grains and rape seed. "That makes them a valuable addition to AB Texel UK's team. The fleet and team's significant expansion and diversification will let AB Texel UK provide a more comprehensive, better service to its customers," a company representative says.
AB Texel UK specializes in transporting potatoes and other agricultural products. "Every day, 120 employees try to give clients in the UK the best logistics services. To this end, their modern fleet consists of more than 100 trucks, semi-trailers, and tippers."
