The construction of a new terminal in East Port-Said Port, the northern entrance to the Suez Canal, started Tuesday in Egypt's northeastern city of Port Said. The contracts for developing the port were signed in November 2022 between the General Authority for the SCZone and the Sky Investment and Reliance Logistics Consortium. The two contracts cover the designing, construction, management, operation, and maintenance of a multipurpose terminal (Terminal 2) in East Port-Said Port.
The new 900-meter-long terminal is expected to provide 550 direct job opportunities and lure 65 million U.S. dollars in cumulative investments.
