Air New Zealand Cargo exports 5 million kgs of fresh produce, focusing on cherries

Air New Zealand Cargo is actively facilitating the transport of an estimated 5,000,000 kgs of cargo during December and January, emphasizing the export of New Zealand's fresh produce globally. Anne Dunne, General Manager, Cargo, Air New Zealand, highlighted the airline's role in connecting Aotearoa's fresh produce market with international markets, particularly during the festive season. The focus is on delivering premium New Zealand lamb and cherries, among other exports, worldwide.

Cherries, in particular, see a surge in demand in Asia as the Chinese New Year approaches, symbolizing good luck, prosperity, and family unity. Air New Zealand Cargo aims to export up to one million kilograms of cherries to key markets such as Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan, with additional shipments to North America and, through partnership with other airlines, to Vietnam.
