"The new season of Arancia di Ribera DOP will start around mid-November at Parlapiano. Things are looking very good as fruits are very sweet, uniform and appealing. In October, although the oranges weren't ripe yet, we had already registered a Brix level of up to 14° Brix," reports purchasing and production manager Vincenzo Parlapiano.

Unlike eastern Sicily, the production area was luckily not affected by adverse weather events, and the rain in October actually favored production.
"Fruits will be extraordinary in the 2021/22 season, meaning demand will be lively for both Arancia di Ribera DOP and Vaniglia Paradiso oranges, which are also much appreciated," added sales and marketing manager Paolo Parlapiano.
"We expect imports to increase thanks to the interest shown for our oranges by some big retail chains in northern Europe, as our fruits are truly unique compared to those from other production areas."
Innovation is strategic for all companies, and this is what company president Biagio Parlapiano focused on, also stressing how "organic Parlapiano oranges have their market of reference as well, which keeps on growing thanks to those who prefer a more sustainable product. But the considerable investments made to purchase machinery to place our organic oranges in cellulose nets have been just as important. We did this with environmental sustainability in mind, as it will enable us to use less plastic."
