AliExpress enters the supermarket business in Spain

AliExpress, Alibaba's e-commerce platform for selling to markets outside China, has added a supermarket service to its application in Spain. This is the world's first market where it does this, in collaboration with the internet operator Lola Market.

AliExpress enters this business so that its customers can buy thousands of products from eleven supermarket chains and thirteen food markets in Spain.

The service will be available starting this Wednesday in the cities of A Coruña, Alicante, Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Murcia, Pamplona, Seville, Valencia, and Zaragoza, and it will soon be extended to Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, and Las Palmas.

"Spain is a key market for AliExpress. It stands out from the rest of the markets for having been able to constantly introduce unique innovations to improve the global shopping experience of our customers," stated the CEO of AliExpress in Spain, France, and Italy, William Wang.

Deliveries within a minimum one-hour period
After making the payment in the AliExpress application, deliveries will be made within a minimum period of one hour. Customers can make orders based on their zip code and include products from different supermarkets or stores available in the surroundings so that the Lola Market personal shoppers make the purchases in the selected centers.

AliExpress thus enters the third generation of electronic commerce (Q-commerce) with ultra-fast on-demand deliveries of supermarket items.
