Last year, the Netherlands gained a cooling and processing location for fruit and vegetable products: Agro Duiveland. Pieter Molendijk and Jan, and Pieter van de Velde have transformed a former agricultural storage company into a modern onion packing facility. It does refrigerated storage and transshipment of fruit and vegetable products.
The men reflect with satisfaction on their business' start-up year. "Our possibilities reach further. For example, we have no less than 3,000m2 of cooling capacity for crates and pallets. We can cool and store fruit and vegetable products in a 1-14°C temperature zone. We can also dry and aerate sensitive products like ginger," says Pieter.

"Our central cross-docking site is perfect for storage and transshipment location for products going to and from the ports of Flushing, Antwerp, and Rotterdam. We're GlobalGAP and Skal-certified, which means we can also process and store organic products. We distinguish ourselves by always supporting customers; their issues are our challenge. We're a young company and want to grow alongside our clients."
"Besides our service and direct lines, we always have personal contact with our buyers. We try to brainstorm with them wherever possible, even outside office hours. We have the space and the machines. And we're open to servicing more fruit and vegetable companies regarding cooling, sorting, drying, storage, and transshipment. There are possibilities for other products that don't need to be refrigerated. In short, there are plenty of possibilities," Pieter continues.

"We also offer our customers handling activities - measuring and checking products using quality control, weighing, stickering, palletizing, sealing, and repackaging. We've got all the necessary machines and equipment. To serve our clients quickly, we've recently built three modern loading docks."
"We use those for fast, correct loading and unloading. Sorting onions is another of our specialties. We'll soon be installing a new line for this. Then we'll be able to handle extreme demand peaks and large volumes by rapidly increasing our capacity. We're currently working hard on this," concludes Pieter.
