In a radio interview on October 13, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, spoke about the concerns and matters of the people of Dominica related to their welfare and well-being. He said that the government is paying a huge focus towards agriculture, which includes sustaining the existing farmers and seeking to attract more young people, especially young professionals into agriculture.
The government is also focusing heavily on growing more food in Dominica, high-value crops such as broccoli, cauliflower, dragon fruit, and yellow and red bell peppers and moving towards greenhouse technology.
Furthermore, the government is also focusing on the tourism sector with the hotels supported by the Citizenship by Investment program. The country looks forward to some of them being completed towards the end of next year. Sustainable jobs will be created after the completion of these hotels as tourism in the country remains a vital point.
