As a Producer and distributor since 1988 and distributor of the Fanny brand, Arco Fruits specializes in citrus fruit. Based in Perpignan, the company has been selling Newhall Oranges from Portugal for about three years. Its main activity remains the Spanish citrus fruit, but the company wanted to offer to its clients a product whose origin is in constant progression on the market.
“Portugal is well known for the quality of its products. We start the campaign in November with a fruit that reaches maturity right before the Spanish origin. Portuguese products have become increasingly popular in France in the last 10 years,” explains Gauthier Fernandez.

Portugal is the leading producer of NewHall oranges, which is an “exceptional” variety. Juicy and sweet, it presents “unique qualities”, according to Gauthier. Above all, the NewHall orange from Portugal is certified PGI Citrinos do Algarve. “The demand is growing for this product with very little acidity and a minimal Brix degree of 12.5°. There is a real craze among consumers for the PGI certification because it is a guarantee of quality, which reassures the final customers.”
Arco Fruits sells a complete and elaborate range of products. The company offers other products from Portugal, without the PGI certification, at more competitive prices: leafy oranges, untreated after harvest, in 10kg nets, as well as oranges, untreated after harvest, in 10 kg nets.
