Turnover is up, but profits are down for UK potato supplier

Manor Fresh, based in Lincolnshire, was formed in 2006 by the merger of DGM Growers and GeestQV. The firm is part of Fresca Group Ltd, a privately-owned holding company with interests across the UK fresh produce sector. Turnover has increased during its latest financial year. However, pre-tax profits dipped following the challenges of Covid-19 and inflation. The company has reported a turnover of £66.3 mln for the year to 30 April 2022, up from £64.8 mln in 2021. Pre-tax profits went from £1.8 to £1.3 mln over the same period.

A statement signed off by the board said: "Product quality and availability was good overall, but several significant weather events presented challenges to the team. Given the broad range of the supply base and skills within the team, the business was able to minimize the impact of these events to continue to deliver strong quality and service throughout.”
