Morocco’s agricultural and maritime food products exceeded the threshold of MAD 80 billion ($7.79 billion) for the first time in 2022. According to data from Morocco’s Ministry of Agriculture, the number represents an increase of nearly 20% compared to 2021/ The new data also show good development in the exports of fresh fruits and vegetables, which reached a volume of 2.3 million tons last year, representing an annual growth of 10%. Soft fruit exports also recorded a growth of 20%, with a volume of 131,900 tons.
The ministry also touted Morocco’s exports to the American market, which experienced a significant growth in citrus exports. Morocco's agriculture and agri-food exports stood at MAD 73.8 billion ($7 billion) at the end of November in 2022, up from MAD 62.36 billion (5.97 billion) recorded in 2021, the data showed.
