“Compared with previous years, the shelf price of tomato products has increased making it impossible to find anything that costs just 59 eurocents," explains Giuseppe Stasi, sales manager at Rosso Gargano.
"The big retail chain has absorbed part of the costs so as not to reduce the purchasing power of families further, although a slight tension remains in the formation of product prices. If we consider the same product, prices are higher in northern Italy than in the center/south of the country. Families are being affected by inflation, so reigning in prices is the only way to stop the race to discount stores looking for special promotions."

Rosso Gargano was set up in 2008 and strengthened over the past few years, increasing its exports that now exceed 50% of the turnover. The brand is available in 55 countries worldwide and especially in Japan with high-quality products that derive from its own land. The brand combines two souls, the agricultural and the industrial one, which makes the difference for the company and guarantees high quality, a short chain and excellent performance in the kitchen. Certified Italian products and especially oblong tomatoes from Puglia typical of the Capitanata area.
"On a commercial level, we are promoting our Passata di Puglia, available in 400 gram glass jars and made with tomatoes grown in our fields in Puglia. In addition, between March and April, the new line of ready sauces will be launched. Consumers reward those who invest in the chain and in the land and the results are proving us right: we managed to penetrate the market in northern Italy through eight platforms."
Rosso Gargano grows, transforms and commercializes round and oblong tomatoes of the Docet and SV5197TP varieties. The assortment includes the classic tomato sauce in tins, peeled tomatoes in sauce with basil, cherry tomatoes, plum tomatoes and diced tomatoes.
The markets of reference are the big distribution chain, the H&R sector and restaurants all over Europe, the US, Japan, Canada and Australia. With a growing turnover, the company has invested a lot in communication and promotion over the years, managing to conquer new markets where the brand is growing, especially in the retail and food service segment in Germany, France, Spain and Arab Emirates. These markets have welcomed the launch of the first Rosso Gargano product in jars.
