The National Police have arrested two people who assaulted a driver of a citrus truck in Orihuela, threatened him with a knife, and stole 3,000 euro that he was carrying to pay for the fruits he was going to collect.
The victim filed a complaint at the police station in the capital of Vega Baja. According to his statement, as he was going to pick up citrus fruits in his truck, a car started to blink its lights at him at the height of Hurchillo road. He didn't respond to its lights and the vehicle continued to show anomalous behavior until it placed itself in front of the truck at a roundabout, cutting him off.
A man and a woman got out of the car, took two knives out of the trunk, approached the truck cabin, opened its door, and intimidated the driver until they managed to steal his money. In the struggle, the complainant was injured in the hands.
The detainees, a man and a woman of Moroccan nationality, aged 52 and 30, were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of the Guard of Alicante.
