Arjen de Jong (52) has been appointed managing director of Van Kempen Koudetechniek with effect from 1 January. Van Kempen has 125 employees and completes projects at companies such as Aartsen, De Groot, Euro Frigo, Lidl, Royal Flora Holland and The Greenery. Since 2020, the company has been part of technical services provider Unica.
Over 15 years of experience as general manager
After earning his degree in Business Administration at Eindhoven University of Technology, Arjen de Jong gained extensive experience over the past 15 years as general director at companies in the wholesale and manufacturing industry in a high-tech environment. For example, since 2008 he was general director at EWS in Geldrop (2008-2013), Axxicon in Son (2013-2021) and from 2021-2022 of CoreDux in Tilburg.
Spearheads
At Van Kempen, Arjen will focus on expanding the client portfolio, developing and marketing new solutions and maintaining the lead in quality and technology. Arjen succeeds Jan Vliet van Zante, who has decided to wind down his business activities after a 40-year career at Van Kempen, including as managing director since 2008.
Arjen de Jong explains his appointment: "The added value of refrigeration technology is becoming increasingly important for many markets and applications. In particular, the demand for sustainable systems is increasing enormously. I look forward to leading this distinctive company and developing it further. Of course, while maintaining the focus on the family culture and attention to our employees. In doing so, I would like to thank Jan Vliet van Zante for his great contribution over four decades at the company and wish him all the best in the new phase of his life."
