All kinds of rumors are flying around about Dutch fruit exporter Jan Oskam that Kees Oskam has been running for 30 years. He feels compelled to set these incorrect assumptions straight:
"We recently sold our location in Vleuten to a property developer who, eventually, wants to build homes there. It borders the now very popular Maxima Park. Jan Oskam can continue to use this site unhindered until December 31, 2024, and depending on developments, possibly a little longer," says Kees.
"In anticipation of these developments, we started constructing a large building at our other site in Neerijnen. It's equipped with all the kinds of conveniences a 2020 fruit cultivation and trading company would want. We've always anticipated Oskam's future lying in Neerijnen."
There are all sorts of stories with bogus scenarios doing the rounds. These are false, and Kees wants to use this opportunity to reassure everyone that Jan Oskam is alive and well. "As of early 2024, the Neerijnen site will be the central location," he explains. "We're carefully working on a plan to integrate the two sites."
"There will be no further consequences for customers and suppliers. Also, Oskam's most important 'capital' - its dedicated staff - will receive all the attention and support needed to make this integration process run smoothly. Cultivation, processing, and export will be and remain concentrated in Neerijnen," Kees concludes.
Trading Company Jan Oskam will also again be present as an exhibitor at Fruit Logistica in Berlin: Hall 3.2, stand C-21.
