Carrot prices in Ukraine increase each day, according to EastFruit analysts. Limited supply of carrots caused by destruction of the key production regions in the south of Ukraine by the Russian army, keeps pushes carrot prices up. Despite very high price levels trading activity in this segment remains quite high and the demand for carrots is generally assessed by market players as a rush.
As of 1 February, prices of carrots in Ukraine are already almost twice as high as ever before in USD and are 2.3 times higher than the previous highest level for this day ever recorded in Ukrainian hryvnyas (UAH).
Prices for carrots in Ukraine began to rise in early January 2023, while the pace of trade in the last 2 weeks has also been gradually growing. According to experts, only since the beginning of this week, the price of carrots in Ukraine has increased by an average of 10% and is currently in the range of UAH 22-27/kg ($0.60-0.74/kg).
Experts explain the increase in prices for these products by the fact that many local producers are running out of high-quality carrots, the harvest of which this year was quite modest. Local producers are also confident that the price of these products will continue to grow further.
