Producers of fruit and vegetable products in Kazakhstan often experience problems related to the storage of their products. Therefore, during the season, they have to sell products at low prices. The demand for vegetable storage facilities exceeds supply by 46%.
Of those that exist, 60% of rented vegetable storages do not meet technical requirements.
The Ministry of Agriculture has developed a comprehensive plan for the construction and modernization of vegetable storage facilities from 2021 to 2025.
"The creation of a modern and accessible infrastructure will allow small and medium-sized agricultural producers to sell products in the off-season with a higher added value, and the state to eliminate the shortage of fruits and vegetables during the off-season and stabilize food prices," the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs said.
