Since the beginning of 2023, the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Moscow region has inspected over 270 vehicles and carried out quarantine phytosanitary control of about 5 thousand tons of fresh tomatoes that entered the territory of the Moscow region from Turkmenistan.
Specialists of the All-Russian Center for Plant Quarantine carried out laboratory studies that confirmed the compliance of these products with quarantine phytosanitary requirements.
After the successful completion of the control procedure, the tomatoes are released for free sale.
The tomatoes from Turkmenistan are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan, and every year the country increases exports in these directions. Dozens of private growers in Turkmenistan grow vegetables indoors on more than 670 hectares.
