For this reason, and with the firm intention of continuing its expansion in the old continent, the company will attend Fruit Logistica, which will be held in Berlin from February 8 to 10, with a stand where it will exhibit the state-of-the-art technology of its new 4.0 factory in Medina del Campo.
This leading company in the fresh potato sector is turning towards Europe and placing its internationalization strategy in a privileged position: after landing in France and Portugal with Meléndez France and Batatas Meléndez, one of its priorities now is to open new markets for its product and to diversify its export destinations.
"Participating in Fruit Logistica is the ideal way to showcase the international sector its raw material in order to grow at all levels. “Fruit Logistica is one of the most important trade fairs for the fruit and vegetable sector in Europe. In this edition, there will be more than 2,300 exhibiting companies, 270 of which will be Spanish, a figure only surpassed by Italy. Patatas Meléndez will be present at the event with some data it's proud of. The company from Castile and Leon has greatly exceeded the results of the previous year and closed 2022 having sold 200,000 tons of potatoes and with a turnover of 110 million euro. This represents growth of more than 21% for the group compared to the previous year, a good end to the year which will provide the impetus to continue growing for another year," the company stated.
“The new plant will mark a before and after in the sector; it will ensure the generational replacement and rejuvenation of the field; it will be a means of professionalizing the sector and giving continuity to the crop. The many innovations it introduces range from optical sorters to disruptive systems to control the traceability of the raw material throughout the production process. In addition, AGV transport will allow remote management, and its modern technology will reduce water and energy consumption. ”
