European Gateway Services further expands its services to and from southern Germany

EGS further expands its services to and from southern Germany
European Gateway Services (EGS) is increasing the frequency of the rail connection between Rotterdam and Nuremberg. From Friday 17 February, a train will depart from Rotterdam to Nuremberg and vice versa 4 times a week. Through this connection, all container terminals on the Maasvlakte are directly connected to the TriCon Container-Terminal Nürnberg several times a week. There is a direct connection to Regensburg twice a week.

The extra train arrives in Nuremberg on Friday evening and departs to Rotterdam again on Friday night. As a result, import cargo can be delivered directly in Bayern on Monday and export cargo is available in Rotterdam on Sunday/Monday.

The trains have a capacity of more than 100 TEU and through the use of electric Vectron locomotives, also contribute to more sustainable transport. EGS offers last mile transport in Bayern and Rotterdam as well as port transfers within Rotterdam and to and from Antwerp. In addition to the connections with Nuremberg and Regensburg in Bayern, also Munich is directly connected to the port of Rotterdam by rail.
