At Hazm Al Markhiya, Lusail, and Old Airport

Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry shuts down fruit and vegetable section in three outlets

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the closure of the vegetable and fruit section in three food outlets in Hazm Al Markhiya, Lusail, and Old Airport for violation of Article 7  of Law 8 of 2008 on consumer protection. The affected outlets include Marza Hypermarket, Family Food Center, and Abu Khalifa Trading.

The violations consisted of displaying products that included misleading data by changing the country of origin for some products and mixing products of different quality with the aim of selling them at a higher price, which is considered a violation of consumers’ rights.

The closure period will be three days for each outlet, from February 7th until February 9th, 2023.
