"Fruit Logistica is proof that the worst is behind us and that we are definitely in a relaunch phase after some complicated years. We have noticed curiosity and the hope for a better future. Speaking for ourselves, we find that buyers are increasingly interested in the peculiarities of aromatic herbs and their uses. The pandemic has led consumers to understand the relationship between food and health. Therefore, even for aromatic herbs, attention is paid not only to markets and marketing, but also to the story behind the product," says Carlo Simonato, owner of Italian family company Ortoflorovivaistica F.lli Simonato.
The company grows organic aromatic herbs, for year-round sales, including basil, sage, parsley, chives, rosemary, mint, oregano, marjoram, thyme, dill, lemon balm, coriander, watercress, chervil, chamomile, lavender and licorice.
"We have been focusing on organic products for more than 20 years," says marketing manager Rosanna Bertoldin. "We offer our aromatic herbs in fully compostable paper packaging. Service quality and continuity of supply are fundamental. Despite cost increases, we can still offer the products at competitive prices with a fair price-quality ratio."
"We participated in Fruit Logistica to strengthen our presence abroad and to present our new product lines and our new plastic-free packaging that we called Bio&Paperpack. It took a lot of research work and now the whole supply chain is certified organic: from cultivation to packaging and from transport to shelves at points of sales."
