Start of the Austrian greenhouse season:

"Instead of March, we hope to be able to deliver our first tomatoes by Easter"

Because of the high energy costs, Walter and Lukas Sattler from Tadten planted their tomato plants four weeks later than normal. Of course, this also affects the harvest. "Normally we have the first produce in March. This year, we hope that we can deliver our tomatoes by Easter," Walter Sattler told Krone.at.

Gerlinde and Richard Ulrich from Wallern also planted their seven hectares of cucumbers a week later than last year. However, this was due to the bad weather. The mini and normal snake cucumbers are growing and thriving, and the first harvest is expected here in about two weeks. "We're looking forward to when the season starts again," the growers said.
