UK potato grower AH Worth and Company has reported a turnover of £112.7m for the year to 31 May 2022, up from £80m in 2021
Pre-tax profits went from £2.5m to £1.5m over the same period.
A statement signed from the board said: "The harvest for 2021 saw a return to expected yields for wheat, which was a significant increase on the back of a lower 2020. Potatoes, however, decreased year-on-year.
"Grocery buying habits were showing signs of beginning to stabilise as we begin to re-establish pre-pandemic shopping patterns; however, logistical challenges and rising costs continued to add pressure on the supply chain." reports www.insidermedia.com
It added: "The business continues to build upon its resilient response following on from the global impact of Covid-19 by continuing to reliably support its customer base, whilst also ensuring that the environment for its employees is to the benefit of all.
"The various challenges and opportunities presented has position the group well to face into future obstacles in a swift, efficient and open-minded manner."
