EU to spend €25 million to boost Kenya's exports

The European Union announced a funding commitment of €25 million to TradeMark Africa (previously TradeMark East Africa) to support a five-year initiative to increase Kenya's exports and assist the government in fostering a favorable trading environment.

The program, known as the Business Environment and Export Enhancement Programme (BEEEP), will build on initiatives that the Kenyan government has already backed and will support the aim of the Integrated National Export Development and Promotion Strategy (INEDPS), which aims to increase Kenya's agricultural exports.

The BEEEP program will concentrate on finding solutions to supply chain constraints, storage issues, and logistical problems; enhancing processing, adding value, and information access; and enabling changes that will better the business environment.
