Croatia’s first distribution centre for fruit and vegetables worth €14.6 million opened this week near Osijek, eastern Croatia, the Osijek-Baranja county government said. The centre covers 8,182 m2 and will provide local agri producers with infrastructure and conditions to store, sort, pack and sell their produce, the county government said in a press release last week.
The overall refrigeration capacity of the centre is 3,228 tons distributed in 29 cooling chambers. The county invested €4.6 million in the project and €10 million has been provided by grants from Croatia’s EU-backed national recovery and resilience plan.
