On March 8 and 9, Cuna de Platero will hold open days aimed at the berry sector's farmers and technical personnel to publicize the Cupla blueberry variety.
The attendees will be able to visit different farms that are growing this blueberry variety that was developed by Cuna de Platero's R+D+i department, as well as nurseries. "The goal is to answer any questions that the attendees might have," the cooperative stated. "This is the first time Cuna de Platero is carrying out presenting in situ this variety that was adapted to Huelva's soil and weather conditions."
Anybody interested in attending the event must confirm their assistance to Francisco del Rosal García, at [email protected] or to Juan Carlos García, at [email protected]. The attendees will be picked up on March 8 and 9, at 9:30 am, at the door of the cooperative (road to Montemayor, Moguer).
"Cupla is available to all producers who wish to grow and market it. It is an early variety that has very good quality. It yields L-caliber fruits throughout the campaign, has a good productive performance and good shelf life. Its production cycle lasts from the end of November to the beginning of May, and its production peaks in the months of February and March. The fruit is present along the entire branch of the blueberry bush, which facilitates its collection. In addition, the flavor and juiciness of this variety are reminiscent of wild blueberries."
