India's fresh grape exports for the fiscal year 2022-23 increased in both volume and value due to strong demand from Europe, the largest buyer, and ample supplies. This is despite a delayed start to the export season and negative factors such as a duty increase by one of the major buyers, Bangladesh, and slower shipments to Russia due to the war situation, according to exporters.
"Demand from Europe is strong. We expect this year's exports to exceed those of 2019," said Vilas Shinde, Chairman and Managing Director of Sahyadri Farmers Producer Company Ltd (Sahyadri Farms), a major fresh grape exporter.
