Dutch company gets new cross-docking center

Last year, DLG built a cross-docking center with no less than 30 docks in the Netherlands. Fresh products are transhipped here daily to be transported by ferry to the United Kingdom.

This new facility was already in use by late 2022, but since February of this year, that included DLG's renovated office building. That means the company can now, again, be found in its familiar spot.

Sustainable remodeling
"A remodeling, obviously, involves plenty of considerations, and although things weren't always straightforward, we're proud of the result. For example, sustainability-wise, the roof has been fitted with no fewer than 1518 solar panels, and we laid reused paving bricks. We kept the existing office, but we entirely remodeled them, and they thus fully meet current energy and climate control standards," the company writes on its website.

DLG's staff have now moved into the new offices that sport the new DLG colors. However, visitors are greeted by a familiar sight when they arrive. The eagle that has stood in front of the office building since 1994 is still there. This eagle, the 'Veagle,' was created from Visbeen, Post-Kogeko, and DailyFresh Logistics' logos during their 2019 merger.

The company's other Dutch offices have been newly painted and outfitted, too, so both sites now have the same look.

And the UK?
The company has not been idle in the United Kingdom, either. "In February 2022, we moved into a new location that can house 30 trucks in Cranford, right along the A14 freeway. We recently added a DLG office, completing the picture."

"We recently also increased our truck fleet in Bury St. Edmunds," states the website article. "That's our other location with an office near the Harwich and Felixstowe terminals - from three to 15. These are deployed seven days a week and sometimes even day and night."

That means people will see more and more DLG trucks in the United Kingdom, and the company can better serve its customers. "The Brexit rules have complicated transport between the continent and the UK. We've built up experience of this and support clients in handling all customs-related formalities, so they don't have to organize any of that," reads the website.
