Over the past few months, Bulltec delivered a new processing plant to Master Fruit in Licata for the weighing and packaging of zucchini and bell peppers made entirely of 4.0-ready stainless steel. Now that the campaign is over, it is possible to make an assessment.
The Bulltec sorter at work at Master Fruit
"Maurizio Bartolini, partner of Master Fruit in Licata, saw that, while employing the same personnel (10/11 people), our combined weight line for trays has a productivity of 2.9 - 3 europallets/hour, with an exceeding weight per tray of 3%. Just to make a comparison, a traditional manual processing line made up of single operator stations with scales has a productivity of 2 2.1 europallets/hour, with an exceeding weight of 7%," reports Ruggero Ricci from Bulltec.

The system was studied and developed by Bulltec to facilitate and optimize processing, especially when they are packaged in punnets/trays/nets. Bulltec filed to patent this type of line in 2022.
The new Bulltec processing line guarantees a delicate product management thanks to the fact that there are no falls between the conveyors, as they all work at the same height. Master Fruit reports, in fact, being able to process light-colored zucchini, which are notoriously extremely delicate.
"We are pleased to report these data because we managed to meet the current market needs that require fewer personnel combined with excellent precision per single tray."
