In recent months, two Dutch companies, Scherpenhuizen and Kamps Sperziebonen, have discussed further cooperation. That recently led to Scherpenhuizen taking a strategic interest in Kamps.
After the first exploratory talks, it became immediately apparent that the two family fruit and vegetable companies' DNA and visions matched well. That created a trust basis to actively jointly consider in which areas they could strengthen each other.
Kamps was looking for a solid, reliable partner with whom to further develop its core activities and expand internationally. Scherpenhuizen wanted a good sourcing partner to expand its product range for year-round delivery to its customers. Combining their skills and expertise, they aim to grow further in the production countries and become one of Europe's best pulse suppliers.
"We'll use the coming time to properly analyze and further roll out the jointly developed vision. Naturally, we'll keep our customers well informed about this development. Both companies are extremely optimistic about it," the two companies' representatives say.
Kamps has pulse and spring onion cultivation activities in the Netherlands, Germany, Senegal, and Morocco. Scherpenhuizen is one of the larger players in the Netherlands in packaging, transporting, and marketing fresh fruit and vegetables.
