"With our twenty years of experience in the sector, we design and build greenhouses for agriculture as well as photovoltaic greenhouses. We aim at being a social driving force in a territory - that of Calabria - that is not yet ready to value its land, and therefore to benefit from its huge potential," reports Francesco Mari, owner, and founder of Mari Serre, which was set up in 1991.

"Around 1000 square meters of high-tech greenhouses are equivalent to 5,000 sq m of open fields. Based on our experience, people work better if greenhouses are designed and set up well. Production costs are lower, and work conditions are improved."

The utmost care that characterizes the company means that every structure is fruit of careful planning that considers both structural constraints and client needs. The constant company development must be searched in the technical skills and passion of the owner as well as in the personnel working alongside him and in the careful planning, execution, and assembly.

The internal office is made up of professionals, and staff preparation is strictly monitored and updated for a constant evolution of building techniques.

Photovoltaic greenhouses
Mari Serre landed in the renewable energy market with its photovoltaic greenhouses, which are getting more popular in southern Italy as well. "We presented the first photovoltaic greenhouse during a fair in Verona in 2009." Now, Mari Serre photovoltaic facilities are present in various Italian regions, with 30 Mw installed in total in just one year.

"We also have 1 Mw at our company. Agrivoltaic systems represent the future of greenhouses. Our structures can be two-pitched, featuring 4 or 5 photovoltaic modules, or single-pitched, featuring 9 or 10 modules."
Combination of crop and culture
"The crop, agriculture, the knowledge of the land and the fruits that it produces are the basis for the future without forgetting that, despite the depopulation that is affecting our territory, there are still those who believe that better education and an increased awareness of the huge potential of the land could be useful to deal with the great problem that is unemployment in the south." With this purpose in mind, Mari Serre also works with various agricultural schools in Calabria and Sicily.

Mari Serre will attend Macfrut 2023 (Rimini, 3-5 May ) at the Regione Calabria stand. "We will present an automatic model of a photovoltaic greenhouse. Come and see us to learn more about it!"
