This marketer, which distributes these products to European countries such as Germany, France, and Switzerland, operates from Bedmar because of the white asparagus crops there are in this area of Sierra Magina, which are packaged in the facilities of Congana. "Colmena Verde is giving continuity to an activity that began many years ago through a company that has decided to take advantage of these facilities and the experience that the workers of this town have working with white asparagus,” stated Francisco Reyes.
"Colmena Verde's marketing of white asparagus contributes to the generation of more than fifty jobs, including producers dedicated to this crop and the people who are responsible for the packaging of this product." “We buy the asparagus from farmers, then we package it and we sell it to end customers in Europe. It's an activity that directly involves about 56 people. Nearly 13 of them work for us and some 40 in the field, including the people in charge of collecting asparagus and farmers,” stated Antonio Casallo, the owner of Colmena Verde.
