Available in all McDonald's restaurants in France until the 25th of April, French pears are making their debut in the range of chewy fruits. Florette Food Service, supplier of McDonald's fruits and vegetables for almost 40 years, has drawn on its know-how and long-term relationship with French fruit growers to select 160 tons of Angélys pears from eco-responsible orchards to add to the range of fresh French seasonal fruits offered on the Happy MealTM menu in McDonald's restaurants in France.
In order to guarantee the supply of all McDonald's restaurants in France until the 25th of April, Florette Food Service has contracted the supply of 160 tons of pears from 39 producers located in the Loire Valley (Maine-et-Loire and surrounding areas), the Loiret, Mayenne, Aisne, Somme and Marne departments.
The pears are offered with 4 other fresh fruits in seasonal rotation throughout 2023 within the chewy fruit range, alongside fresh apples, which are always available. This launch is part of McDonald's France’s strategy to further develop its French sourcing and offer more tasty fresh seasonal fruits. By 2023, 82% of the fruit sold in the company's restaurants will be grown in France and in eco-responsible orchards.
