Gandules Inc, the largest Peruvian capsicum (pepper) exporting company in the country, announced the signing of a binding agreement with the Chilean agricultural company San Clemente Ltda and its agro-industrial subsidiary San Clemente Foods SA, in a two-stage process in which the Chilean company will acquire a significant percentage of Gandules' shares.
This integration alliance will allow both companies to complement and develop the agro-industrialization of fruits and vegetables to boost their sales globally and thus become the largest vertically integrated producer in Latin America.
Gandules, with more than 21 years of experience and 7,500 direct collaborators, is an important industrial organization in the Peruvian food industry. The company produces more than 15 varieties of capsicums and different types of fruits throughout the 12 months of the year.
Agrícola San Clemente Ltda, the parent holding company of San Clemente Companies, has been dedicated for more than 40 years to the cultivation, processing, and export of fresh fruit (such as apples, cherries, grapes, and clementines) to the main markets of the world. It has commercial operations in Asia, Europe, and the United States, as well as crops of its own in England, Colombia, and Peru. San Clemente Foods SA is a leading company in the manufacture and marketing of concentrated juices and fruit and vegetable pulps for the world's leading food industries.
