The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will be in attendance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Macfrut (Rimini, 3-5 May 2023). Preceding the event, on 2 May, the head of state will pay a visit to the city of Cesena. As part of the event, there will also be a round of meetings with fruit and vegetable companies.
"We are elated that he accepted the invitation," said the President of Macfrut Renzo Piraccini and the Mayor of Cesena Enzo Lattuca, "which acknowledges the fruit and vegetable sector not only at a local scale, but also at a national one. It is a recognition that the sector deserves."
"Of the 40 overall editions, 32 were held in Cesena and eight in Rimini. It is also worth mentioning," continues Piraccini, "that the roots of Macfrut are and remain in Cesena. There are 14 employees of Cesena Fiera plus another 15 people working for this major event. Relocating Macfrut to Rimini has led to more resources. It can now be considered a major international fair. The presence of President Mattarella will be a spotlight for the entire supply chain."
The schedule is still being finalized, but it will take place in the morning of 2 May. The president will be present in the historic counter with visits in Piazza della Libertà , the Bonci Theater and the Malatestiana Library. Mayor Enzo Lattuca gives credit to the work carried out by the local politician Massimo Bulbi to arrange for the presence of President Mattarella.
The fruit and vegetable sector will be expected to meet the president in the Piazza della Libertà , in a sort of preview of Macfrut with the attendance of the companies, followed by a conference in the Bonci Theater that will engage the entire agricultural sector, which will receive a great deal of attention on a more political level from the president of the Republic.
