Kazakhstan is opening its doors for foreign trade companies to stabilize food prices. These foreign companies are being created to minimize the risk of seasonal vegetable and fruit shortages and to lower inflationary pressure on the market.
This week, a joint Kazakh-Uzbek company called Uzkaztrade was registered and opened. The aim of this joint export-import company is to provide Kazakh consumers with wholesale fruits and vegetables at affordable prices, excluding long chains of intermediaries.
A similar joint Kazakhstan-Pakistan company is in the process of being launched in Lahore.
'QazTrade' plans to register its own subsidiary in Dushanbe. The joint companies will also export Kazakh fruits, vegetables to Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan on market terms.
