Minister of Agriculture El-Sayed El-Quseir has announced that Egypt’s agricultural exports reached 2.506 million tons from January to April 2023. The minister’s statements were based on a report from the Head of the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine (CAPQ), Ahmed El-Attar. According to the report, agricultural exports increased by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
Egypt’s top export crops during that period were citrus, potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, strawberries, green beans, guava, garlic and pomegranates. Citrus came in first place at 1.302 million tons followed by fresh potatoes at 456,000 tons and onions at 189,000 tons.
