"Weather permitting, the harvesting of melons will start in mid-June and continue until mid-September. Watermelons will instead be harvested between early July and late August," reports Christopher Bernardi, representative from Rimini Bernardi Ortofrutta. "We are attending Macfrut (D4, 29), where the focus will be on the first seasonal fruits grown by our company."
Both products are Zero Residue. "We transplanted over 40 hectares of melons, 20% more than last year. This is also due to the higher number of foreign clients: our turnover made abroad has in fact exceeded 40%."
Melons will be available between mid-June and mid-September "to guarantee the maximum organoleptic qualities. Cultivation has a low-environmental impact and irrigation is carried out thanks to probes that assess the actual need of plants. To us, managing irrigation in a rational and digital manner is a primary objective to be able to save water and nutrients and improve yields and quality," adds company agronomist Francesco Fabbri.

As for watermelons, a little under 10 hectares have been transplanted. Both traditional watermelons and seedless mini-watermelons are available, which are Zero Residue certified too."
"At the fair, we will also present a new fully-compostable packet for Nickel Free tomatoes."
