Rivoira reconfirms its trust in Aweta to satisfy overseas markets with apples

“Today the sector is in a critical situation because these two years of crisis, first the pandemic then the war within European borders, have meant that costs are quite high, that the sector has lost competitiveness. The only way that our company sees to be able to make up for these high costs is to industrialize and computerize to focus everything on premium products, that is, high quality products that can have added value for our farms and for our producers," says Marco Rivoira, owner of the company Rivoira Giovanni e figli SPA, who is convinced that this is the best way to make up for costs.

Rivoira is "a company dedicated to exporting to overseas countries, and it is therefore essential to obtain the best quality system since overseas markets and long distances impose ever higher quality standards," says Rivoira.

With this clear vision, the company has recently decided to invest in a grading system, to be included in one of its packaging lines for apples. This is because today "the packaging system can be considered the sensitive part of the company".

For this project, Rivoira has once again chosen to place its trust in the experience of Aweta, a supplier of grading and packaging systems, specialized in the treatment of apples. The relationship between Rivoira and Aweta is a decade-long relationship, which in 2015 led the two companies to jointly develop a state-of-the-art, fully automated pre-calibration plant, as well as packaging lines for apples.

Rivoira therefore returns to choosing Aweta technology for this new project, after last year enthusiasm about the results obtained from the installation of the new Ultravision vision system, capable of identifying even an insidious defect such as stem crack on the apples.

“The purchase of the new Aweta grading machine is part of a five-year project to bring automated internal and external quality to the packaging lines.” In fact, the project foresees the installation of an Aweta Calistar sorter, also equipped with the Ultravision external quality selection system as well as the Inscan internal quality sensor, in order to carry out a correct selection of the apples after storage in the cold rooms and before to be packed.

Aweta is looking forward to welcome visitors at the Macfrut fair in Rimini at Stand D3/037, where it will be pleased to present the results obtained on apple selection thanks to its innovative systems.
