Dutch onion exports top 1 million ton mark

Dutch onion exports have, again, topped the 1 million ton mark, GroentenFruit Huis export statistics show. For the last eight weeks, exports fluctuated between 12,000 and 15,000 tons. Yet, compared to last year, those are more than five weeks behind in volume. The Netherlands exported onions to some 130 destinations this season. Senegal is the biggest buyer, with over 162,000 tons; Great Britain and Ivory Coast (both 124,000 tons) follow.
