In April, Turkey exported 326,020 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables worth $235.7 million, according to the head of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters Association, Ferhat Gürer.
Tomatoes ranked first for the month, with a 16% increase, reaching $69.3 million in exports. Peppers followed with a 16% increase, generating $28.8 million in exports. Lemon exports also rose by 12%, reaching $28.5 million.
Russia was the main importer of fresh Turkish fruits and vegetables, with exports increasing by 25% in April to $58.1 million. Romania and Ukraine also featured among the top three importers of Turkish fresh produce. Export to Romania increased by 30% to $35.1 million and by 40% to $19.6 million to Ukraine.
