Tomatoes entering Kosovo from Albania are being scrutinized, as some sources claim that these tomatoes may contain high levels of hormones. The Food and Veterinary Agency in Kosovo is awaiting the results of the laboratory tests of the samples sent for the tomatoes that were imported from Albania, and depending on the results, actions will be taken.
The Food Agency still has no official notification about the tomatoes imported from Albania and their content, which have recently left the European Union market. Despite all this, the AUV has taken the samples and sent them to laboratories abroad for the purpose of testing for chemical contaminants/pesticide residues.
