Reemoon Mexico's first apple sorting equipment put into operation

"Mexico's apple industry eager for new investments"

The annual output of Mexican apples is about 700,000 tons and the main planting areas are concentrated in the Chihuahua and Coahuila regions, and in the Cuautemoc. Chihuahua, which is the core producing area of Mexican apples, accounts for more than 85% of the total apple production in Mexico.

The geographical location of this area is special, and the climatic conditions are suitable for apple production. The apple fruit season in this area starts in August, and by the efforts of apple packaging factories and cold storage, the region can realize processing and sales throughout the year. Marsana is a medium-sized apple packaging factory in Mexico. The customer originally had manual sorting equipment. In order to increase production capacity, control quality, and enhance brand awareness, the customer invested in intelligent sorting equipment by Reemoon, a Chinese sorting equipment manufacturer, earlier this year.

This is Reemoon's first apple sorting machine in Mexico. In this regard, Manager Vincent, in charge of Reemoon Latin America, and Mr. Gustavo Alonso Martinez Arzate, the general manager of Marsana, accepted an interview.

Fruscan S7 visual inspection system has high accuracy in detecting defects
Manager Vincent introduced the background of Marsana's choice of Reemoon equipment: “Marsana is located in Cuautemoc, Chihuahua, the core apple production area in Mexico."

"This year, the customer built a new packaging plant next to the original packaging plant to expand production capacity. To ensure the smooth processing of apples throughout the year, the customer wanted to purchase sorting equipment with high quality, advanced technology, and excellent sorting capacities. At the beginning of this year, the sales team of Reemoon carried out market development activities in this apple-producing area of Mexico for the first time.

Reemoon's team visited Marsana and met Mr. Gustavo who was building a new packaging plant and inspecting sorting equipment suppliers."

Vincent continues: "We introduced our Fruscan S7 visual inspection system to the customer, the types of defects detected and the detection accuracy, and we showed the operation videos of each of the machines that we exported to many countries."

"After watching these videos, the customer was very interested in working together with us, and they reflected that our apple sorting equipment performed well in its detection accuracy. They said that they did not expect to fund such an excellent manufacturer of fruit sorting equipment in China!"

"After receiving the proposal and quotation from us, Mr. Gustavo was even more confident in working with us, because the complete set of equipment was more cost-effective than other suppliers. As such, we installed this set of a 2-lane apple sizer in June . After we finished the commission, we invited Mr. Gustavo to inspect our visual inspection effect on site. Our after-sales engineer introduced our software system, the sorting interface and an on-site apple-test was used to demonstrate our defect recognition technology."

"We also saw that the customer was very satisfied with the appearance of our equipment. After seeing the excellent performance of the defect recognition technology, he gave our equipment and team a thumbs up. I saw Mr. Gustavo's bright smile and his excited words: "I like this machine. "

Then, Vincent introduced the fune conveyor, a sorting machine, a visual inspection machine, a belt machine packaging table, and a full box conveyor line. It is composed of parts such as weight, size, color, and defect identification. A major feature of the equipment is that it uses the latest Fruscan S7 visual inspection system of Reemoon, which can separately capture and model various defects of apples.

The detection function and accuracy have been improved, and the latest visual inspection software system has the function of in-depth self-learning, which makes that the system will have better and better performance with the accumulation of sorting volume.

Vincent continues: " Reemoon's FRUSCAN S7 vision detection system can accurately remove defective fruit and achieve real high-quality fruit at a good price. This is also one of the biggest advantages of Reemoon equipment compared with similar products on the market. At present, this technology is very mature. In addition to this set in Mexico, we have apple sorting machine customers in Turkey, Chile, Russia, South Africa and New Zealand. Our demo apple sizer in New Zealand has an internal quality inspection function, and its high-precision interior-browning detection has caused a sensation in the country's apple industry. In all these countries, customers can see the application of our Fruscan S7 technology on apple sorting and quality testing. And in September this year, we will install a set of a four-lane apple line project in Mexico."

Providing localized services to increase product-added value
As Reemoon has more and more projects in Mexico and the coverage of production areas is getting wider and wider, the company is currently preparing to establish a branch company in Mexico. Vincent, the manager in charge of Reemoon Latin America, says: "In the Mexican apple-producing area, we established an office and an after-sales warehouse this year, and we formed a local team to support our activities in this region.”

Vincent shares his views on the Mexican apple market: "Compared with other fruit types, such as avocados, lemons, and oranges, the mechanization of apple sorting in Mexico is still in a relatively low state. There are still a large number of packaging factories in the production area that use manual selection. With our advanced technology, cost-effective and high-quality service, we are bound to win a broad market in the Mexican apple production area."

He continues: " As we all know, China is the world's largest apple producer. Before exporting apple sorting equipment to other countries, we have already occupied most of the market in China's apple sorting field and accumulated a lot of experience in apple sorting. In China, apples are mainly the bagged Fuji variety, which is much less resistant to bumps than local Mexican apples. Therefore, Reemoon has developed a unique set of technical solutions for the details of apple sizer bump resistance for many years."

When talking about the challenges and countermeasures for promoting apple sorting technology in the Mexican market, Manager Vincent said, "First of all, the market competition is fierce. To stand out among many brands, our strategy is to highlight technical advantages and improve cost-effectiveness. Secondly, we want to provide a full range of after-sales services. For this, we have two ways, one is to reserve and train overseas installation teams, and after-sales teams in domestic factories. We always employ experienced engineers to provide more timely services."

Reemoon is mainly engaged in the R&D and manufacturing of post-harvest intelligent equipment for fruits and vegetables, and the provision of post-harvest treatment solutions for fruits and vegetables. The company has also set up a mechanical automation research institute, which is dedicated to the automation of the entire processing line to meet the needs of different customers.
