Canadian eats 135 Carolina reaper peppers in one go

Just recently, a Canadian man ate 50 of the world's hottest chili peppers in a record-breaking 6 minutes and 49.2 seconds. Speed-eater Mike Jack took on the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat 50 Carolina reapers, which average 1.64 million Scoville Heat Units. This means they are hundreds of times hotter than jalapeno peppers.

Jack finished his 50th pepper with a time of 6 minutes and 49.2 seconds. Incredibly, once his record attempt was over, he continued to eat peppers until he reached a total of 135.

The number earned him the No. 2 spot on the League of Fire Reaper Challenge leader board, which tracks attempts to eat the most of the peppers in a single sitting.

Jack: "The initial shock of spiciness is intense. The second one doesn't seem as bad, but each one after that gets hotter and hotter as the peppers touch new places in your mouth. … "I get bad cramps. It feels like someone is squeezing and twisting my guts. Your mind is telling you to stop, but you have to convince yourself to keep pushing through."
